Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team based in Istanbul, Turkey. As a Payroll Specialist, you control all payroll processes to ensure completeness and accuracy. You also work closely with multiple departments to deliver all payroll-related matters and compliance. You will work closely with the Senior International Payroll Specialist, Senior HR Specialist and the Chief Accountant in order for correct and swift payroll preparation, tax return process coordination and management information delivery. This opportunity will appeal to payroll specialists who have extensive experience in a fast-paced international environment. We are looking for a person who understands the various aspects of a highly international employee group, including taxation challenges.

The TurkStream Offshore Pipeline starts in Anapa, Russia, running over 900 kilometres through the Black Sea to the Turkish coast. The pipeline will help secure energy supplies to Turkey and South-Eastern Europe in a reliable and sustainable way. We have used state-of-the-art technology, materials and equipment, to safeguard the pipeline’s safe operation for many decades to come.

Function
  • Carrying out monthly and periodic transactions of Türkiye branch related to payroll calculation, within the framework of corporate processes and legal regulations;
  • Having in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and ensuring compliance of processes with legislation;
  • Contributing in the development and implementation of payroll policies, procedures and internal controls;
  • Maintaining the payroll software, including reports/queries;
  • Responding to all internal and external inquiries on payroll related issues, social insurance and taxation;
  • Processing the payroll tax return, the connections, tax returns and payments. Also controls on taxes and social security contributions and the connection with the financial administration;
  • Managing the tax assessments of the secondees;
  • Ensuring an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close, including the account reconciliations of all payroll accounts with the accounting books;
  • Execution of all personnel affairs, payroll and accrual processes;
  • Carrying out monthly declaration and employment & termination procedures with e-declaration;
  • Following-up and management of Government incentives concerning payroll;
  • Preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes;
  • Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management;
  • Conducting bank payments;
  • Ensuring advance payments are processed on time and controlling invoices of third parties delivering related services;
  • Supporting the yearly salary-review;
  • Supporting in calculating the yearly bonus payment;
  • Executing benefit administration for all payroll-related employee benefits;
  • Submission of the health reports to the SSI system.
  • Responsible for the gross up amounts arising from the employee expenses like training, membership fees, relocations, work permits, temporary housing, salary advance deductions on travel expenses, health insurance premiums, gift cards, secondee invoices etc. And prepare relevant the list for the payroll process regarding the gross up amounts;
  • Matching the payroll reports with accounts in the accounting books monthly;
  • Submission of the SSI and Income taxes to the official finance system;
  • Preparing the UPR forms for SSI and taxes;
  • Checking all employee expense forms and invoices relevant to the employee expenses regarding the Company policies;
  • Providing related HR data at the requests of the auditors authorized by the Company;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Accounting or related fields;
  • At least 5 years of experience in a complex multinational business environment, with focus on Payroll & Benefits;
  • Strong knowledge of Türkiye's payroll legislation, Employment Tax, and Social Security;
  • Demonstrated technical expertise on the automated systems and processes in designated areas of responsibility;
  • Experience in using payroll software;
  • Familiarity with financial reporting & accounting structure;
  • Excellent command of English and Turkish;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially high proficiency in MS Excel;
  • Ability to succeed in multiple deliverables and high-priority tasks;
  • Strong analytical and communication skills;
  • Appreciation and understanding of teamwork.
